They reckon there are over 31,000 lochs in Scotland and we are blessed with some rather fine ones in our local area, particularly at Castle Kennedy gardens. I’m also very fortunate to have the most beautiful lake view every time I visit my Mum in Grasmere in the Lake District. This painting is my homage to those calm and still mornings where there’s hardly a breath of wind and the glorious colours of Autumn trees are reflected in all their glory in still, deep waters.
Beautifully framed in a white box frame with white mount, the glass is a good inch away from the picture, giving it wonderful clarity and depth. The painting is approx 30 x 40cm (16 x 12 inches) and the framed size is just under 54 x 44cm (21 x 17 inches).
Acrylic, on paper.
